Belgian Presidency of Council of the EU: Key priorities

From January 1 to June 30 2024, Belgium assumes the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This period marks a significant transition, encompassing both domestic elections and European Parliament elections. Following Spain and preceding Hungary, Belgium will be responsible for chairing meetings at every level in the Council and ensuring continuity in the EU’s work.
