Laura Hutchinson on UK Government’s agenda following Queen’s Speech

Our Head of UK Political Intelligence, Laura Hutchinson, commented on BBC News following the Queen’s Speech:

“What you are seeing from the Government here is a real sense of urgency to get their legislative programme through before the next General Election”

This year’s Queen’s Speech, which marks the start of the parliamentary year in the UK, was read by Prince Charles. The speech represented a key opportunity for Prime Minister Boris Johnson to reset the Government’s agenda for the upcoming months.

There were 38 bills put forward which covered a variety of topics, including a public order bill, economic crime bill, bill of rights and borders legislation.
