Two days until the first budget of the new Labour Government.
The first budget of the new Labour Government will be presented on Wednesday 30 October.
Labour has said that growing the economy will be its primary focus in government. However, it is uncertain how the Government will balance this with a series of manifesto commitments, including promises on taxation and spending, a “£22bn black hole” in the public finances, and a desire to fund struggling public services.
The Government has also promised to work in partnership with the private sector to deliver economic growth. This means that in producing the budget, Ministers must be conscious of what industries across all sectors are asking for.
This Dods Political Intelligence Report is an excerpt of our comprehensive sector-by-sector breakdown covering what we’re expecting the budget to contain, and what stakeholders are asking for. Specifically, this report covers:
- Health and Social Care
- Education and Skills
- Energy and Net Zero
