Rishi Sunak has signaled a general election will be held in the second half of 2024. The prime minister has outlined the Conservative government’s priorities, including growing the economy, raising education standards, and stopping migrants crossing the English Channel in small boats. The Conservatives have also set out policy plans in various areas for beyond the current parliament and started to highlight dividing lines with opposition parties.
